Will IoT Help Robots Take Over Humankind Anytime Soon?
Machine learning is the first step towards the much-hyped AI leading to machine intelligence and the building of intelligent robots. Machine learning gets computers to write programs to reach a certain outcome rather than having a programmer write logic based on a set of rules. Does this mean machines can write their own programs and self-learn and take over humankind? Not so soon!
Three main challenges hinder the evolution of AI in machines. They are (i) getting adequate training data; (ii) human dependency on tribal knowledge; and (iii) the need to develop models for many unique use cases.
I have written about this in the IEEE IoT Newsletter May 2016 issue.

I would love to hear from you if you have experience with Machine Learning and IoT data. Do you see the problems I mentioned? Are there more? I am always curious to learn what really works as I continue to build out my IoT case studies for my IoT books.
